Improvisation - or as I like to call it, spontaneously practicing patience, empathy and letting go.
Marlee Grace is a dancer, maker, and owner of Have Company, a shop/residency space in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her artist in residence is currently Will Owen, a sound artist who has curated sound installations across the globe and frequently collaborated with dancers of The Median Movement (Frances Ha). Together, Will and Marlee will be facilitating a workshop/showing of sound and movement, and sharing their experiences with improvisation.
I've been asked, along with dancer Amy Wilson ( Dance in the Annex ) to attend and partake. This workshop is open to all. Your stories are summoned and participation encouraged. The approach is to share what we know and learn from each other.
The workshop is $12 at the door or sliding scale, no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Beginners are most welcome!
